Kelly Smitsdorff is a Human Resource Director for the HR Resource Center department and has more than eighteen years of experience in human resources and employment law. She has advised employers on all aspects of human resources, including hiring and termination, performance management, harassment and discrimination, disability, family and medical leave, wage and hour law, workplace policies, and downsizing/reductions-in-force.
Kelly manages MRA’s human resource audits and employee handbook services, as well as MRA’s unlawful harassment training and third-party harassment investigations.
Education
Prior to joining MRA, Kelly represented employers as a labor and employment law attorney, where she handled the investigation and defense of employment disputes before federal and state courts and agencies. Kelly has also served as an instructor for the Carroll University Communication program. Kelly received her law degree from Marquette University Law School; her master’s degree in human resource management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management; and her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Carroll University.
