Denise enjoys consulting with organizations to determine compensation philosophies, strategies, and programs that align with their overall business goals. Understanding various organizations’ cultures, challenges, and future visions is key to ensuring that the right compensation plans are developed and implemented and can be sustained going forward. Denise specializes in leadership and employee education about compensation and can provide essential insights into compensation trends and marketplace changes.

Expertise

Denise has over 25 years of Human Resources experience specializing in all areas of compensation. She has an extensive background working with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the areas of base compensation, market pricing, pay structure development, executive compensation, sales compensation, incentive compensation plan design and FLSA compliance.

Key Accomplishments

  • Conducted a total compensation review in a large Twin Cities nonprofit organization. Updated job descriptions, recommended salary survey sources for job market pricing, market priced all jobs, created a pay structure, and presented project results and educational sessions to senior leadership. Provided compensation recommendations regarding regional organization expansion.
  • Led a review of 16 separate incentive plans in an organization with multiple locations throughout the United States. Developed a consistent, detailed, and legally compliant plan document format for use throughout the organization. Met with leadership to gain insights and conducted focus groups to gain employee perspectives. Created new plan documents for each separate incentive plan and led plan education and implementation.

Bachelor of Arts in psychology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
