Tim believes that the compensation function exists to support the attraction and retention of talented employees through competitive, consistent, compliant, and cost-effective pay programs. If compensation is doing its job well, you may not know that they are there.

Expertise

Tim has worked in human resources for almost 25 years across multiple HR disciplines, with most of his time in compensation/ total rewards. Tim has extensive experience in base pay management, incentive plan design, and executive compensation. His industry experience includes nonprofit, insurance/financial services, health care, and manufacturing—in both privately held and publicly traded companies. Tim also owned/managed a total rewards consulting firm from 2018 to 2021.

Key Accomplishments

  • Led the development, design, and implementation of multiple compensation programs across diverse industries
  • Managed the compensation function for several companies, including leadership for a global agribusiness and a publicly traded multi-line insurance company
  • Key contributor for executive compensation initiatives, including quarterly compensation committee meetings and Compensation Discussion & Analysis (CD&A) portions of annual proxy statements
  • Consulted on projects involving compensation strategy, timelines, communication, and technology workflow

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts & Science/Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from WorldatWork.

Professional and Community Activities

Tim has been an active volunteer with local youth activities: baseball, softball, and Cub Scouts. He also volunteers his time in leadership roles at his church, homeowners association, and local country club.
