Inspiration

Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. - Bill gates

Everyone who knows Mark also knows that he’s passionate about his career and that he loves computers. But what stands out even more is Mark’s dedication and commitment to his job and to providing excellent customer service.

Expertise

Mark has worked in the computer industry for over 35 years, beginning his career in the United States Air Force working on computer systems within the NORAD system (Anyone remember the movie War Games?) After finishing his tour in the service, Mark worked as a customer engineer, maintaining and repairing large mainframe computers and peripherals. In 1986, a third party integrator enlisted his skills to facilitate opening their first branch office in Brookfield, WI. In 1998, Mark joined MRA and is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of all of the association’s technology-based products and services.

Key Accomplishments

  • Installed a new IP based company-wide phone system, replacing four older phone systems and improved member service by adding a state-of-the-art call center system.
  • Merged two MRA data centers into one system and incorporated a disaster recovery site, providing a more efficient system and reducing environmental costs.
  • Implemented a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) wide area network, connecting all of MRA’s office locations by a private network that provides fast, secure data communication.

Education

Mark attended and received computer systems repair specialist certification through the U.S. Air Force Technical Training Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
