A compressed workweek is one in which employees work the same amount of hours in fewer than the customary number of days per week. Commonly this would mean working less than 5 days in one week or less than 10 days in one pay period. Compressed workweeks are slightly more common during the summer and may be known as “summer hours” schedules.
