MRA – The Management Association invites the next generation of members and leaders to join our Next Gen Advisory Board, a unique leadership opportunity designed to amplify fresh voices, bold ideas, and future-focused thinking. This initiative is more than a seat at the table—it’s a chance for emerging leaders to shape the direction of MRA’s offerings, strengthen their professional voice, and connect with peers across industries.

Advisory Board members will engage with MRA products and services firsthand, offering valuable feedback on our delivery, content, and quality. At its core, the board provides young leaders a meaningful role in guiding MRA’s member-centric strategies, ultimately influencing how we support and serve them in the years ahead.

    • Emerging leader or early-career professional with 0-10 years’ workforce experience

  • Time Commitment and Schedule

    Time Commitment and Schedule

    The Next Gen Advisory Board will meet monthly from Sept 2025 – May 2026. Meetings are 1.5 hours in length and are held virtually on Fridays. Each meeting will have a dedicated focus, and there will be a minimal amount of pre-work before each meeting, less than one hour per month.

    Nomination Guidelines and Tips

    Nominees:

    • Should be employed at a current or former MRA member organization and located anywhere in our Midwestern footprint.

    • Should have a basic understanding of what MRA is and a few of our services.

    • Need to be officially nominated by a colleague who recognizes their potential.

    Nominators should:

    • Highlight the nominee’s strengths, leadership potential, and passion for development.

    • Multiple nominations per organization are welcome.

    Selection Process

    All proposals received on or before Friday, Aug. 8 will be reviewed by the MRA Next Gen Advisory Committee. Selection will be determined by those that best align with the Advisory Board member qualities outlined above. Selected Advisory Board members will be notified by Wednesday, Aug. 20, or before.

    Advisory Board Member Responsibilities

    • Attend monthly virtual meetings.

    • Participate in discussions and provide feedback on MRA’s products, services, and messaging.

    • Complete light prep work as recommended.
