New Hire Interviews

Dig deeper into the reasons behind early turnover by gathering insights directly from new employees

Employee turnover during the first year of employment has been steadily increasing, presenting a growing challenge for organizations to identify both individual and systemic factors contributing to early departures. This trend can lead to significant disruptions in team dynamics, as well as increased recruitment and training costs.

To address this, MRA’s New Hire Interviews are designed to dig deeper into the reasons behind early turnover by gathering insights directly from new employees. These interviews aim to uncover common themes and root causes, ranging from job expectations and workplace culture to management practices and onboarding experiences.

By identifying these issues early, MRA helps organizations take proactive steps to resolve them, improving employee retention and fostering a more positive work environment before turnover becomes inevitable.

How It Works:

An MRA Business Partner will arrange check-ins with the new hire at 30, 60, and 90 days to gauge how employees connect to their role, their team, and the greater organization early in the employment journey. Virtual or in-person conversations with the new hire allow us to dive in beyond the classic “it’s fine” answer and identify wins and shortfalls of your onboarding program. These interviews can be structured as an ongoing process for every new hire to the organization or at any point in time (3 or 6-month commitments) to give real-time solutions.

What You Receive:

Upon completing your New Hire Interviews, MRA will assess your new hire practices and make recommendations for change and improvement. These will be crafted specifically for your organization, but they may include suggested changes to your onboarding and orientation practices, implementing employee connection programs such as mentorships or buddy programs, and improved training plans, for example.
